Searching in the Browser
You can use the browser's built-in search and filtering capabilities when trying to locate files.
To search in the browser:
- In the file browser, select the folder that you want to search.
- Click the Search button.
- Enter the filename for which you want to search in the Search For field. You can enter a partial name, as well.
- To also search through the folders that are in the selected folder, enable Search Subfolders.
- To filter your search results, do any of the following:
- To filter based on the creation date of the files, enable the upper Only Show Files button, and then set the options. You can choose to filter files newer or older than the amount of time entered. Choose whether this number represents hours, days, weeks, or years.
- To filter based on the size of the files, enable the lower Only Show Files button, and then set the options. You can choose to filter files larger or smaller than the size entered. Choose whether this number represents bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, or gigabytes.
- Click OK.
You can switch between the Desktop and the Search Results using the list at the top or the icon.
