Setting Behavior Preferences

You can choose how combustion updates the operator controls panel as well as the quality level of feedback when playing back clips.

To set behavior preferences:

In the Host category, click Behavior.

The Behavior preferences appear.

Set the following options as required.

Switch Operator with View

Updates the operator controls to match whatever operator is loaded into the active viewport. As you switch viewports, the operator controls update automatically.

Update UI During Playback

Updates user interface elements, such as the current frame field, when playing back clips. If disabled, all interface elements other than the viewports will refresh only after you stop playback.

Quality Degradation

Reduces image resolution when manipulating objects in viewports. If disabled, combustion tries to use the current resolution instead of downgrading to a lower one. The Feedback option must be enabled to see the effects of this feature.

Degradation Timeout

Used in conjunction with Quality Degradation, this option specifies the amount of delay, in milliseconds, before combustion downgrades the image resolution. Use a lower number to quickly degrade images. Use a higher number to delay image degradation, resulting in less resolution reduction but slower feedback speeds. The Feedback option must be enabled to see the effects of this feature.
