Planning Your Projects

Before you begin working on a composite or other branch, think about what type of footage you need and what your final output requirements are. For instance, there is no need to work in full D1-NTSC resolution if you plan to create streaming video for a web site. For information on composite settings, see Choosing Format Options.

Keep track of where the footage you use comes from. The way footage is created can affect the way it appears in a composite. For instance, if you import an animation rendered from 3ds max™, you need to set the pixel aspect ratio for the footage to "Square." Otherwise, it may appear distorted in an NTSC composite. For information, see Changing Footage Source Settings.

Proper planning from the outset can save you considerable amount of time and work in the long run.
