Working with 2D Composites

Many common compositing scenarios do not require the full feature set of 3D space. By creating a 2D composite or switching a 3D composite to 2D, you can speed up the rendering.

2D and 3D composites can exist within the same workspace, so the compositing mode is very flexible. You can even mix the two modes when you nest composites (for example, the layers of a 2D composite can be nested 3D composites).

You can switch between 2D and 3D compositing at any time, but some of the work you do in 3D may affect the 2D result or may be ignored. For more information, see Switching 3D Composites to 2D Composites.
