Moving a Keyframe in Time

Normally, you drag a keyframe's value without changing its place in time. You can, however, change a keyframe's time without changing its value.

This is useful if you want to change the timing of an animation or effect. For example, the position of a moving layer is correct at frame 100, but you want it to reach that position 5 frames earlier. Moving keyframes in time can be accomplished in both Overview and Graph modes.

To move a keyframe in time in Overview mode:

Click and drag the keyframe to its new time.

To move a keyframe in time in Graph mode:

Right-click (Windows) or Option-click (Macintosh) the keyframe and drag it in time. The cursor changes to indicate that you can drag the keyframe left or right.

Note: Changing a keyframe's position in time can affect the shape of the animation curve between keyframes.
