Turning Off Emitters

You can turn off an emitter so that no particles are created.

To turn off an emitter:

1. Show the Workspace panel (F3).
2. Click the yellow box next to the name of the emitter.

You can also select the emitter, show the Emitter controls (in the Particle Controls panel), and disable Active Emitter.

Note: There are very few cases where you animate the Active Emitter property. Usually, you want particles to linger and fade out, so you animate Number instead.
