Saving Shapes to the Shape Library

If you imported a shape using the Import Shape Only option, the shape is not in the library yet. It is only used for the particle type. The same is true if you used an operator for the shape. Save the shape by saving the emitter object to the emitter library (since the shape library is stored in the library file).

Note: If you used other methods to assign the shape, the shape is already saved in the library.

To save a shape to the shape library:
  1. Select the emitter (or particle type) in the Workspace panel.
  2. In the Library controls, select the folder (or an emitter in the folder) where you want to save the emitter.
  3. Click Add Current to Library.
  4. The selected emitter object is saved with its particle types (and their shapes). If the shape is from an operator, the name "New Shape" is used for the shape. If the shape was imported, the name is set to the filename without the extension.

Names of shapes in the library can be the same, so do not worry that a new shape will overwrite an existing shape with the same name.
