Using Masks with Particles

You can also use masks to block areas of the clip from the particles. In this case, you cannot see the areas that are masked (or you see them partially due to opacity settings). You can also use an animated mask to control where the particles go.

A deflector can stop a particle but not kill it. You can use masks to simulate a barrier that kills particles. Use softness on the mask edges to make the particles fade out instead of disappearing.
