Toolbar - Selection Tools

Use selection tools to select a portion of the image to which you want to paint or apply an effect. For more information, see Paint: Drawing Selections.

Lasso

Use to create a freehand selection.

Magic Wand

Use to select an area of contiguous color.

Rectangular Selection Tool

Use to select a rectangular area of the image.

Elliptical Selection Tool

Use to select an elliptical area of the image.

Polygon Selection Tool

Use to select a polygonal area of the image by creating a Bezier path.

Text Selection Tool

Use to create a text-based selection of the image.
