Copying and Duplicating Objects

Use the copy and paste commands to copy objects between Paint operators. Use the duplicate command to copy objects in the same operator. Duplicate combines copy and paste into a single command.

You can also copy the motion path from one object to another.

To copy an object from one operator to another:
  1. Select the object.
  2. Choose Edit | Copy.
  3. The object is copied to the clipboard.

  4. Select the Paint operator where you want to paste the object.
  5. Choose Edit | Paste.
  6. The object is pasted into the selected Paint operator.

To copy an object into the same branch:
  1. Select the object.
  2. Choose Edit | Duplicate.
  3. A copy of the object appears directly on top of the original object. When you move it, the object underneath is revealed.

    Note: You can also duplicate an object by pressing Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) while clicking and dragging it.
