Revealing to the Current Frame
You can use the Reveal tool as a fast way of copying or removing objects in the current frame. For instance, you can perform a quick wire removal of an object in front of a green screen by revealing to the current layer with a slight position offset. When you paint over the wires (using a Line tool or a thin brush), you see through to the green screen. For a uniformly lit green screen, you can no longer distinguish where the wires were.
To perform a reveal operation on one frame:
- Load the layer into Paint.
- On the Modes controls, click the Reveal button.
- Move to the frame where you want to reveal (for instance, the frame that contains the elements you want to remove).
- In the Frame field, enter the number of the current frame and unlock the frame.
- Offset the position of the current frame using the X and Y Offset fields or the Set Position button .
You can also press Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) when any Paint tool is active, and place your cursor over the image. A yellow crosshair appears and the source image is displayed in the viewport. Click on the image to set the offset.
- Press the ; key to show the reveal source.
- Use the appropriate Paint tools to draw over the object you want to add or remove from the current frame.
