Editing the Shadow Properties

Use the Shadow controls to change the color of the shadow, soften the shadow, adjust its opacity and scale, and offset the shadow from the text object.

To change the color of the shadow:

Click the color box and select a color from the Pick Color dialog, or use the Color Picker tool.

To adjust the opacity of the shadow:

Enter an opacity value in the Opacity field.

To soften the shadow:

Enter a softness value in the Softness field. The higher the value, the more blurred the shadow.

To change the size of the shadow:

Enter a value in the Scale field. By default, the size of the shadow is equal to the text object (100%).

To change the position of the shadow:

Use the Distance and Direction fields to adjust the position of the shadow.

  1. Enter a value in the Distance field to offset (in pixels) the shadow from the text object.
  2. Enter a value in the Direction field to determine the direction the shadow is cast from the text object.

Additional Shadow Controls in Paint

When creating text in Paint, you can add and edit a shadow using the Shadow controls in the Text Attributes panel or the Shadow panel. Changes in one panel are reflected in the other.
