Adding Text Using a Paint Operator
Similarly to adding a Text operator to a layer, you can add text by applying a Paint operator to the layer. Paint has the same text tools as the Text operator, plus many other tools.
To add text using a Paint operator:
- In the Workspace panel (F3), select the layer to which you want to add the Paint operator.
- Choose Operators | Paint, or right-click / Ctrl-click and choose Paint.
Note: You can also add a Paint operator to a layer node in the Schematic view.
The Paint operator opens and the Paint Controls panel appears.
- Click Text.
- To add text, do one of the following:
- In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool to begin typing.
- In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool and draw a text box in the viewport.
Note: A text object created in Paint has the same features as a text object created in a Text operator, and can also be used like any other Paint object.
