Common Filter Controls
The filter controls vary according to the filter selected. Most filters have the following common controls.
ThumbnailDisplays a preview of the filter. For most filters, the thumbnail provides real-time feedback as you adjust the filter parameters.
AboutDisplays information about the filter.
ResetResets the filter to its default settings on every frame.
RemoveEnabledTurns the filter on or off. This is equivalent to clicking the filter icon in the Workspace panel or the Timeline.
StoreSaves a snapshot of the filter settings. You can save up to five snapshots. For more information, see Storing Operator Settings.
Set Position buttonUse with operators that require a position in the viewport, for example, a lens flare. Click the Set Position button and then click and drag the pick icon in the viewport or scrub the Set Position button to set X and Y.
Resize Image optionSome filters render information outside the boundaries of the layer itself. Blurs, for example, can blur outward from the edges of the layer to give a softness to the edge. When Resize Image is enabled, the layer boundaries are resized and the result can extend past the edge of the layer; when Resize Image is disabled, the result is cut off at the edge of the layer. The following images show the different results obtained with a Crumple filter. Notice how the second image uses all the space available in the composite, while the first maintains its original size.
In some cases, enabling Resize Image increases rendering time.
This option is not available when you access filters from a Paint operator because you cannot scale a layer inside a Paint operator.
