Transitions Filters
Animate Transitions filters to make one layer gradually disappear over a number of frames and reveal the underlying layers.
To create a transition:
- Click the Animate button to enable animation. (When animation is enabled, the button is red.)
- Go to the frame where you want the transition to start.
- Select the layer that you want to make disappear, (the outgoing layer).
- Choose Operators | Transitions, and choose a transition from the menu.
- In the Transition controls, adjust the filter parameters, leaving the amount setting at zero.
This is the first keyframe for the transition.
- Go to the frame where you want the transition to end, where the outgoing layer completely disappears.
- In the Transition controls, set the amount to 100%.
This is the last keyframe for the transition.
- Play the clip. Adjust the in-between keyframes if required.
The layer to which you applied the filter gradually disappears, revealing the underlying image.
