Snapping to Update the Reference Box

Use the Snap button when the appearance of the reference feature changes suddenly at one or more points in the clip. The Snap button updates the reference feature with the match found in the current frame.

For example, you might use the Snap button in a clip where a bouncing popcorn kernel pops, resulting in a completely different shape.

To snap to update the reference box:
  1. Pause the analysis when the Tracker loses its reference feature.
  2. Press Backspace to return to the last good keyframe.
  3. On the Tracker panel, click the Snap button.
  4. The reference box moves inside the tracker box and its contents are updated with the match found inside the tracker box.

  5. Restart the analysis.
  6. The analysis resumes, using the updated contents of the reference box.
