Applying Grain with a Uniform Spatial Distribution

Normally, the spatial distribution of grain is different for each channel of a color. However, if you choose B/W from the Film Stock list, the grain will have the same spatial distribution for all three channels. The RGB gain fields are still enabled and can be used to give a tint to the grain (useful when re-graining sepia images). Similarly, the RGB radius fields can still be adjusted so you can have different size and orientation for the three channels.

The procedure to apply grain with a uniform spatial distribution is the same as the one to apply grain from a film stock except that you must select the B/W option. For more information, see Using Built-In Granularity Curves.

Note: Another way to achieve uniform spatial distribution is to enable Mono after selecting Custom from the Film Stock list. The curves in the curve editor can still be adjusted.
