Moving and Rotating Lights
You can move a light anywhere in the composite just like you can move a layer or the camera. You can also rotate spotlights to point the beam at different objects.
You can position lights either by setting exact X, Y, and Z coordinate values or by dragging the light in the viewports.
To move a light:
- Select the light. See Selecting Lights.
- Do one of the following:
- Click the Transform button and adjust the required fields to set explicit values for the position of the light.
- Click the Arrow tool on the Toolbar to drag the light to the required position in a viewport. Enable the X, Y, and Z tool options to constrain the movement to one or more axes.
Note: Depending on the view, you can constrain movement when you left-click and drag, and when you right-click (Windows) or Option-click (Macintosh) and drag in the viewport. See Tool Constraint Shortcuts.
The light icon moves to the new position.
Warning: Moving a spotlight does not change the rotation of the spotlight cone. To point it at different objects, you must rotate the spotlight.
To rotate a spotlight:
- Select the light. See Selecting Lights.
- Do one of the following:
