PESCAVIVA

A SYSTEM FOR ALL KIND OF FISHING
AND FOR ALL SEASONS

  1.   Corn is commonly used for fishing in Italy, U.K., France, Germany and other Western and Eastern European Countries where, for centuries, it has grown in the open country. It is suitable for all freshwater fish, especially for Carp, Tench, Barbel, Cat fish, etc..., and also for Trout, to which fish flavours, like Trout Pellet, are particularly attractive, red, black and brown coloured.

  2.   For some years, the tender corn (sweetcorn) has been introduced. It is particularly sweet and suitable for human consumption, both fresh, canned or frozen. Common at the beginning only in the U.S.A. and for more than 20 years grown and sold also in Europe, the sweetcorn, due to its higher attractiveness, replaced as bait the common corn, that now is used only in animal food.

  3. In 1972 D.A.F. al., became the first European producer of canned sweetcorn for human consumption, and since 1977 have introduced to the market a special production of canned tender sweetcorn, only for fishing use, called “PESCAVIVA”. Since the beginning of their activity, D.A.F. al. followed the principle of developing its production by adapting to the needs of the fishermen of the different European Countries gradually Pescaviva sweetcorn became more and more popular.

The tender Pescaviva sweetcorn is coloured red - orange - yellow (much brighter than the natural yellow) - brown and now, with a great success, also black. The colouring, which is not acceptable for human sweetcorn, guarantees that this is not corn which has been rejected for human consumption and is intended only for fishing. In addition to colouring, different flavours are added. These are divided into sweet flavours, including natural sweet corn, still yellow-yellow coloured, fruited flavours and strong flavours.
All the kinds of coloured and flavoured sweetcorn which form the Pescaviva range (28 kinds of canned sweetcorn), are divided into two groups: 6 Big Baits and 9 Special Baits .

The 6 Big Baits are the most popular flavours in the Countries where Pescaviva is sold, and are available as Traditional (large and crispy grains), Competition (small and very tender grains) and Creams for the preparation of boilies and groundbait.

The 9 Special Flavours are available only as large and crispy grains, and are for a more specialised fishing and for catching the more suspicious fish, which are more difficult to capture. However, in several Countries some of these 9 Special Flavours are more popular than the well-known 6 Big Flavours.

The different weather, customs and fishing methods contribute to the different preferences, so the presence of not less than 15 flavours has its fundamental explanation.

All the cans contain about 1.000 grains and weigh 285 gr. plus about 70 gr. of liquid which is coloured and flavoured like the grains. They also have a ring-pull opening and are fitted with a plastic lid to preserve the grains. This allows the cans to be resealed after opening, for subsequent storage in a refrigerator.

The colouring and flavouring used are the same as used in the food industry.

No antifermentatives are used.

Both the cans and the product are environmentally friendly.

D.A.F. al. obtained, as acknowledgement of their production system from field to can, the prestigious quality Certification Certiagro ISO 9002 reserved to those companies observing the most strict technical and organisation standards.
