Children who
have sustained a brain injury should receive
specialized, coordinated, family-centered care
from their primary care providers. By knowing more
about the etiology, assessment, associated
conditions, and prevention of pediatric TBI,
medical providers can better address the multiple
needs of the child and family as they cope with
new challenges. The management of pediatric brain
injury can be complex and time consuming, but we
must all be responsive to the needs of these
children and their families to ensure their good
health, their welfare, and their happiness.
