TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

The island of Ischia is managed by six local couincils: Barano,Lacco Ameno, Casamicciola, Forio, Serrara Fontana. Every council is carectirised by it's own particularity. Barano is popular for the beautiful Maronti beach and for the thermal springs; the most popular are Olmitello and Nitrodi. The caractheristic local dance of Barano is called ”la ndrezzata” which has become famous world wide for it's energetic rithm. The Lacco Ameno council shire, we find the famous fungo(the famous mushroom in the water)of it's particular shape taken over the centuries. Then we find archeological findings, under the cherch of Santa Restituta and near by the museum of Villa Arbusto which is inside the residence. Bay of Sanmontano not forgetting the thermal park "Il Negombo" situated in the. The council shire of forio prouds it's self for the renoud thermal park "The Poseidon Garden". The 5th of May 2002 outside the church called "il soccorso" pope John Paul II met with all the youth of the island. Part of the Serrara Fontana council we find Sant' Angelo,this area is closed to traffic and can only be dicovered on foot. It is a retrest for many tourist who like that idividuality and peace of mind. The council shire of Casamicciola instead offers the popular thermal park of "Il Castiglone", and also the main cargo port of the island is found in Casamicciola. The council of Ischia instead, heart of the night life with it's noumerous night clubs and pianobars mostly on situated the right bank of the port,it is known by the locals as the (river destra), also in the vicinity such as Ischia Ponte, the older part of the island, caters for more distinguished shops, also on the aercheological side, the famous "Castello Aragonese".
