ABOUT US |
The “Azienda Agricola Andrea Marchi” was born at the beginning of the
1970s, in a period when its founder worked in another sector. It was by
pure chance that he decided to develop his interests in farming.
The land belonged to
Andrea Marchi’s ancestors. But he had always loved the farmland that until
recently had always been farmed using traditional methods. He then had a
brainwave: he realised that if the land was exploited better, it would
provide work for lots of people The majority of his family now works in the business, each of them occupying a role which maximises their skills and knowledge. This farm, along with the vineyards, is located in Trexenta, the southern-central region of the island and about 40 km north of Cagliari. It extends for a total of 210 hectares, where its whole production is mostly concentrated to vineyard products. Part of this land is taken up with a vineyard. It covers 40 hectares. As well as the traditional local vines(such as “Monica”, “Cannonau” and “Vermentino”), other “international” vines are cultivated (such as “Chardonnay”, “Sauvignon Blanc”, “Syrah”, “Cabernet Sauvignon” and “Montepulciano”) and have yieled interesting results. The company produces three DOC wines : FUNTANA IRADA - Vermentino di Sardegna DOC OBRADAS - Monica di Sardegna DOC GIUALIS - Cannonau di Sardegna DOC
For their medium/high quality, the company is aiming its products to the upmarket restaurants and wine shops.
