THE ARTIST

Raffaella Nitto inherited her passion for painting from her father. With her thesis of degree she deepened the subject of the history of graphic works used for advertising.
Her guiding inspiration is William Turner, whose landscape paintings are renowned for their intuitive capture of light. A devotee of Goethe's color theory, in which every colour unites with its complementary. Nitto's paintings shows Nature suspended between chaos and stasis. In her work, Nitto seeks to depict the dynamic energies of light and air reflected in water, earth and sky, her atmospheric effects continually vibrating in fresh guises dependent upon the movements of the sun and Earth in its seasons.
