| To celebrate Jubilee 2000, three meetings will be held in Jerusalem, Assisi and Rome between September 2 and 10, 2000. These conferences will provide an opportunity to discuss relevant clinical and bioethical issues concerning human birth, seen as the first visible step towards a free, although in some sense dependent, way of development. Discussions will focus on advances in clinical management and research in perinatal medicine, and in various aspects of development. This could be a form of ecumenical research (in the universal sense, as only science can be) to approach the revolutionary event of birth, with the extraordinary addition of life and love. |
