The Last Frontier. This is something I just
couldn't miss before it desappears forever.
Alaska is a dream, a natural place in Europe I can only dream about.
When I decidet to travel Alaska, what I
really wanted was to get accuainted with what is my 'totemic animal', the one that I
belong to: the bear.
And I had. (Tiglit traditional Bear) |

Here I am, hop-frogging
around Alaska wilderness. Plane is,
actually, the only
mean to reach some places in
the back-country. |

Katmay National Park in the
Aleutinian Peninsula. It sure is
wild, just 4 cabins, 4 fischermen, and 4
photographer and the staff.
A week competely in the
middle of nowhere. |

Sun rise on the Battle Lake
shore, Katmai Nat.Pk. Here is what I
saw every
morning on wakening up
(er . . . if it were not raining)

|
Grizzly bears in a Battle River
fishing ride. They feasted on red
salmon.
Ther's so many fishes around that the bears
seem a little puzzled on which one to grab . . . and sometimes they cach none at all. |

Battle lake, Katmay National Park. In such a 'empty' spaces my mind, used to tighter
landscapes back at home, had to hug on to something reachable and, in a way,
more understandable. |

A Mr. Cariboo plays pekaboo
in Denali tundra. Cariboo display
now full winter mantle and full growth antlers. Winter is coming in Denali, even if it is
still August. |

A black bear, or baribal, fest
on silver salmon in AnAn Bear Observatory. They get so fat and lazy, that eat only the best
part of the salmon and leave the rest.
Ravens, seagulls and also baldeagles will
have to wait the bear to finish eating, and get their portion of salmon, or they will
take the challenge of stealing it. |

A 'mama' bear and its 'baby' waiting for their turn
at the AnAn river self-service; meal of the day: silver salmon. |
