Forcole as Sculpture

As well as satisfying the practical requirements of Venetian rowing, the forcola is recognised as an objet d'art. Saverio Pastor's forcole are displayed in the most important museums in the world -  for example, the Museum of Modern Art in New York - and they are universally appreciated for the beauty of their fluid, curving forms.
