Where we are

Podere Lamastrine

We live amid the woods of the Colline Metallifere, the deep green, sunny hills of southern Tuscany. Holyoaks, cork trees, Mediterranean strawberry trees, sweet-smelling heathers and yellow-flowered brooms envelop our farm-- a cluster of stone buildings and the fields, strewn with silver-leaved olive trees. “Macchia e cielo”, as a villager once said about the place-- only the forest and the sky surround our fields, our animals and us.

A 3.5 km drive along a dirt road, past the last farmhouses near the village and then across the deepest reaches of forest will lead you to our home.

The village is Tatti (452 m a. s. l.), four kilometres from our place, a neat little medieval centre, well preserved with its alleys and arches, that hangs like a terrace in the hills, overlooking the plains of the Alta Maremma and the soft skyline of the Isle of Elba in the distance across the sea.

The municipality we belong to is Massa Marittima, some 30 km away, another pearl of medieval architecture, chief town of the Colline Metallifere.
