Non è solo una donna affascinante, e non è nemmeno un'atleta solo muscoli e cervello, è semplicemente quello che chiunque immaginerebbe come la migliore creatura volante di umane sembianze

 

 

 

 

 

 Barbara Brighetti, Sector No Limits Team member since 1993, was born in Cremona on June 2, 1966. Her father, Bruno, and her mother, Giovanna, after spending their honeymoon in Kenya, returned to Italy only to sell everything they owned to buy a farm in Africa.
Barbara attended elementary school in Kenya, and studied both Swahili and English. She then attended Middle School and High School in Switzerland and Great Britain, and university in Italy. Today she is fluent in all three languages of her childhood, plus French and Spanish which come in handy for her public relations activities.
A born sportswoman, she has either practiced or still practices various competition sports: horseback riding, water-skiing, scuba diving, swimming, sailing, gymnastics, windsurfing, lawn hockey, cross-country motorcycling, and body building.
When she enrolled in a flying course to get her pilot's license, she fell in love with parachuting. She now has various parachuting licenses: from the Kenya Skydivers, the Kenya Air Sport Association, and the Master License Uspa (United States Parachuting Association).

On December 11, 1993, she broke the woman's world free-fall record (without using an oxygen mask) with a 10,900 meter (approximately 32, 700 feet) jump over Brescia's Montichiari airport in Italy.

Jumping from a height of 10,900 meters means a 10,000 meter free-fall before the parachute is opened, and as she jumped without the use of a respirator, she had to hold her breath for roughly 30 to 40 seconds before the atmosphere consented her to begin breathing again. As of today, her world record has not been beaten.
