Mojo Alcantara has about 900 inhabitants. The town occupies an area of 8,39 square kilometers and it is 535 meters above sea level. Its economy is mainly based on agriculture.
THE PEACH FESTIVAL
The Alcantara Valley is one of the most picturesque areas of Sicily. In particular, the Mojo plain thanks to its fertile vulcanic soil has became in recent years a leading producer of fruits end vegetables.
Peaches are mojo's agricultural pride and every year in August a Peach festival is held in the main square of the town. Visitors are offered the opportunity to taste free of charges this delicious fruit and products derived from it: cakes, juices and jams.
