Surface Properties Interface

The surface properties of a layer are controlled by options found in three places in the combustion interface—Layer controls, Surface controls, and Settings controls. This section provides a brief description of these controls. It is intended as a quick reference. You will learn more about how to use these options later in the chapter.

Use the Settings controls to determine how the surfaces of the composite are displayed in the viewport. Use the Layer and Surface controls to adjust the surface properties of layers.

Note: To view any effect involving lights, shadows, or reflections, enable the Shadows, Shading, and Reflections options in the Settings controls.

For information on the Transform controls, see Transforming Layers. For information on the Camera controls, see Camera Interface.

To access the Layer, Surface, or Settings controls:
  1. Double-click a composite in the Workspace panel.
  2. Click a layer once to select it.
  3. Click the Layer, Surface, or Settings button to access the corresponding controls.
To revert to default settings:

Click the Reset button at any time.
