Settings Controls

These display controls affect all layers in the selected composite. Use these controls to balance display quality and processing time. You can adjust these controls independently for each composite.

Wireframe

Displays only the wireframe outlines of the objects in the composite.

Current

Displays only the current object in the viewport. This option increases rendering speed as well as offers a clear view of the current object.

Relative

Displays the current object and any relatives of the object, such as objects parented, hinged, or targeted to the current object.

Rendering

Provides the choice of Software or OpenGL rendering. For more information, see Rendering with OpenGL.

All Objects

Displays all objects in the composite. This is the default option.

Anti-Aliasing

Enable to smooth the edges of diagonal lines, reducing the jaggies.

Supersampling

Use this to enable anti-aliasing for shadows and reflections.

Note: Anti-aliasing and supersampling are only considered when the Display Quality is set to Best. (The Display Quality list is located next to the Animate button, under the viewports.)

For more information, see Changing Display Quality.

Render Effects

When adjusting the properties on the Surface and Layer controls, enable the Render Effects options to see the results. Disable them to reduce processing time when you are not working on lighting or surface effects in the composite.

Enable:
To:

Shading
