Selecting Nodes

You can select and manipulate nodes in the Schematic view. Click a node to select it, or Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Macintosh) to select more than one node. You can also drag a selection box around several nodes to select a group of nodes. When you select a node, it becomes highlighted in yellow or light gray, depending on the color scheme you use for the interface.

You can use shortcuts to select nodes by type, select the entire process tree, or select nodes in the upstream or downstream directions.

Press:
To:

Shift-click

Select the current node and all nodes upstream of the current node in the branch.

Alt+Shift-click/
Option+Shift-click

Select the current node and all nodes downstream of the current node in the branch.

Alt-click/Option-click

Select the current node and all like nodes in the process tree (for example, all Paint operators).

Ctrl-click/
Command-click

Add the current node to previously selected nodes.

Ctrl+A/Command+A

Select all the nodes in the Schematic.

Ctrl+D/Command+D

Deselect all nodes in the Schematic.



Note: To select an edge, click directly on it. You can only select one edge at a time.
