Mask Transparency and Color

You can combine different color and opacity values with overlapping masks.

The following example shows an elliptical mask on top of a rectangular mask in a composite with different opacity and color values.

In the first example, an elliptical mask with an Opacity of 50% is on top of a rectangular mask with an Opacity of 100%. Since the stacking order of overlapping masks with different opacity values has no effect on the intersecting portion of the masks, the elliptical mask has no effect on the composite.

In the second example, an elliptical mask with an Opacity of 50% and a Color of 35% is on top of a rectangular mask with an Opacity of 100%. Since the mask at the top of the stacking order is set to 35% Color, and color has priority over opacity in the intersecting portion of masks, more of the underlying image is seen through the elliptical mask. The Color value takes precedence over the Opacity value and is "cutting a hole" in the underlying rectangular mask.
