Using Mask Setup Files
You can import and export GMask setup files for the mask operators. Usually, you do this to transfer a setup for a specific shot between combustion and one of the Discreet SGI-based systems (for example, flame). You cannot export masks from the Paint operator.
Note: In the Discreet SGI-based systems, masks are known as GMasks (garbage masks).
To export a setup:
- In the Mask Controls panel, click Modes.
- In the Modes controls, click Export.
The Export GMask Setup dialog appears.
- Enter a filename (and location).
The *.GMask file extension is added automatically.
- Click OK.
Note: GMask setups from combustion can be transferred to the Batch GMask module and the Modular Keyer in the Discreet SGI-based systems. They cannot be transferred to the Batch Keyer or the Action Keyer.
To import a setup:
- Click Import.
The Import GMask Setup dialog appears.
- Navigate to the GMask Setup file which has the file extension *.GMask.
- Click OK.
Note: The GMask setups from the Batch GMask module, the Keyer in Action or Batch, and Modular Keyer (from the Discreet SGI-based systems) can be transferred into combustion.
