Timeline List

The Timeline list shows all the layers in the current workspace. This list is arranged hierarchically—the first layer created or imported is at the bottom of the list, and the most recent at the top. Expand the list to display animation channels grouped in categories. Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) while dragging to pan the Timeline list.

Channel values appear in the Timeline list. Click and drag the cursor over the value to increase or decrease it. When you click a channel, all its keyframes are also selected and highlighted.

The Timeline list is made up of the following elements.

Layer or Object icon

Toggle the Object or Layer icon to show or hide the corresponding object or layer.

A yellow icon indicates that it is visible in the viewports.

Expand/collapse triangle

Display or hide categories or channels. Click the right triangle to expand an item. Click the downwards triangle to collapse an item.

Key icon

Turn keyframing on or off. If the key is on (highlighted), and the Animate button is enabled, a keyframe is set when you change the category. If the key is off, keyframes are not set automatically, and existing keyframes are disabled.



Timeline Categories

In the Timeline list, expand a layer to display its categories and channels.

Display ambient light and background categories.

Transform

Display position, scale, and pivot categories.

Geometry

Display Control Point, and G-Buffer categories.

Surface

Display surface categories such as opacity, reflectivity, shading, and transfer modes.

Operators

Display filters, operators, and their channels.
