Timeline Overview

While a motion path illustrates how a layer moves in the animation, the Timeline provides an overall view of all animated channels in the workspace. Before you keyframe other categories, you should be familiar with the Timeline. Use the Timeline to view and edit all keyframes.

The Timeline is divided in three parts:

• Timeline list: lists all the layers, objects, effects, and keyframes in the current branch or composite.
• Timeline view: depicts layers, objects, effects, and keyframes over time in Graph or Overview mode.
• Timeline controls: control various aspects of the Timeline view and animation.
