Editing a Motion Path
Once you create a motion path, you can use the keyframes and the tangent handles to adjust the path's shape.
You can also adjust the speed of an object as it travels along the motion path. For more information, see Controlling Speed.
To edit a motion path:
- To move a keyframe, click the Arrow tool and drag the keyframe in the active viewport.
- To change the shape of the motion path between keyframes, drag the tangent handles at a keyframe.
- To create a sudden change of direction in the motion path, press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Macintosh) while dragging a tangent handle. The tangent handle breaks at the control point and you can adjust the shape of the curve on either side of the control point.
Note: Once a handle is broken, you no longer have to hold down Ctrl (for Windows) or Command (for Macintosh).
- To smooth out broken tangent handles, Ctrl-drag (Windows) or Command-drag (Macintosh) either of the tangent handles.
- To snap a tangent handle (broken or unbroken) in increments of 45 degrees, Shift-drag the tangent handle.
