Toolbar - Miscellaneous Tools

Use these tools to erase, fill, choose a foreground or background color from the screen, magnify the viewport, move the contents of the viewport interactively with the mouse, and activate an object for editing.

Eraser Tool

Use to erase effects and objects. The size of the area erased depends on the size of brush selected.

Flood Fill Tool

Use to fill any contiguous expanse of color with the current foreground color.

Color Picker Tool

Use to pick a color from the viewports or from one of the color panels to replace the current foreground color. To change the background color, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) as you select the new color with the color picker.

Magnify Tool

Use to zoom in or out on a designated area of an image. You can scrub this button. To magnify, press Ctrl and click the area of the image you want to enlarge, or click and draw a selection box around a specific area you want to magnify. To zoom out, hold Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) and click the area you want to reduce.

Grab Tool

Use to move the image within the viewport if the image is larger. You can scrub this tool.

Arrow Tool

Use to select or deselect objects. To select an object, click it. To deselect the object, either click another object or the background. To select multiple objects, click the first object, then press Shift and click each additional object. You can also select multiple objects by drawing a selection box around them.

Note: To select individual objects in a group, press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Macintosh) while you click to select, Shift-click to multiselect, or click and drag to marquee select objects.
