Clone Controls
This section describes the Clone controls. It assumes that there is a Paint operator in your workspace.
To access the Clone controls:The Clone controls include the following elements.
Source List
Use this list to pick the layer to use as the clone source. Select Current to clone from the footage currently in Paint.
Select Pick Operator to access the Select Source dialog. From this dialog, choose another operator as the clone source, or import footage from disk for use as a clone source.
Frame Field
Use this field to enter a timecode value corresponding to the frame you want to clone. Enable Lock to clone from the specified frame only.
Unlock the Frame field to clone from a sequence of frames.
Position Field
Enter X and Y values in these fields to select the starting position for the clone source.
You can also click the Set Position button then click in the starting position in the image.
If you are using another layer as the clone source, when you click the Set Position button, the layer appears in the viewport. Click the starting location on the clone source to return to the other layer.
Note: You can also hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) to quickly set the clone source in the viewport.
Edges List
Select an option from this list to indicate how combustion treats the clone operation when it needs to go past the edge of an offset clone source. Edge Mode options include the following.
TransparentThe clone source is treated as transparent if you draw past the edge of the source.
RepeatThe clone source repeats (like tiles) if you draw past the edge of the source.
MirrorThe clone source is mirrored if you draw past the edge of the source.
ContinuousThe pixels at the edge of the clone source are repeated.
AA Button
Enable the AA button to turn on sub-pixel positioning of the clone source. When this option is disabled, the clone source always snaps to the position of the source to the nearest whole pixel.
Enable this option when you are animating the clone source position. By default, this option is enabled.
