Color Picker

Use the color picker to sample the color of a specific pixel (or range of pixels). The sampled color is loaded into the foreground color box.

When you sample a range of colors, an average of all sampled colors is loaded into the foreground color box.

To use the color picker:
  1. On the Toolbar, click the Color Picker tool .
  2. Move the cursor over the pixel you want to sample, and then click.
  3. The sampled color appears in the foreground color box. You can now use it with any selected drawing tool. The color is also applied to all selected objects.

To sample a range of colors:
  1. On the Toolbar, click the Color Picker tool .
  2. Press Shift and draw a selection box over the area containing the colors you want to sample.
  3. The average color is loaded into the foreground color box. You can now use it with any selected drawing tool. The color is also applied to all selected objects.

    Note: To obtain an average color of the 3 x 3 pixel block around the clicked pixel, enable Area Sample and click in the area containing the colors you want to sample.
