Scaling Objects
You can change the scale of an object by manipulating the bounding box handles. You can scale in different ways: by changing proportions, resizing while maintaining aspect ratio, and scaling with respect to pivot point position.
To scale an object:
- Select the object.
- Position the cursor over one of the handles on the object outline.
The cursor becomes a double-headed arrow.
- Drag the handle to change the object's proportions:
- To maintain the object's aspect ratio while resizing, press Shift while dragging a handle. This operation changes the object's height and width simultaneously.
- To scale the object around its pivot point, press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Macintosh) while dragging.
Note: In the Transform controls, you can also enter precise scale values in the X and Y Scale fields. Enable the Proportional option to maintain the object's aspect ratio. With this option enabled, if you change the value in one field, the other field updates to the same amount.
- Click the R button above the Scale fields to reset changes made to the object's scale.
