Setting Up the Selection Marquee

When you create a selection object, a marquee appears to indicate the limits of the selection. You can customize the way the marquee appears for feathered selections so that it indicates the inner or outer limit of the feathering (or anywhere in between).

To customize the tightness of selection marquees:
  1. Choose File | Preferences, or press Ctrl+; (Windows) or Command+; (Macintosh).
  2. The Preferences dialog appears.

  3. In the Host category, click General.
  4. The General preferences appear.

  5. Set the Marquee Threshold field as follows:

    Value:
    To:

    1

    Draw the selection marquee at the outermost limit of the feathering.

    128

    Draw the selection marquee at the halfway mark between where the feathering starts and the outer limit of the feathering.

    254

    Draw the selection marquee at the innermost limit of the feathering.



  6. Click OK to accept the changes.
To show/hide the selection marquee:

Choose Window | Show/Hide Marquee.
