Adjusting the Texture Source
Use the Texture Source controls to adjust the position and frames of the texture source.
Frame
Use this field to enter a timecode value corresponding to the frame you want to use as the texture. Enable Lock to use only the specified frame as the texture.
Unlock the Frame field to use a sequence of frames as the texture.
Offset
Enter X and Y values in these fields to specify a position offset for the texture source.
Edges List
Select an option from the Edges list to indicate how the texture operation should be treated when material past the edge of an offset texture source is used. The Edges list options include the following.
TransparentThe texture source is treated as transparent past the edge of the source.
RepeatThe texture source repeats (like tiles) past the edge of the source.
MirrorThe texture source is mirrored past the edge of the source.
ContinuousThe pixels at the edge of the reveal source are repeated.
AA Button
Enable the AA (anti-aliasing) button to turn on sub-pixel positioning of the texture source. When this option is disabled, the texture source always snaps to the position of the source to the nearest whole pixel; otherwise, it uses sub-pixel positioning for the texture source.
This option is useful if you wish to animate the position of the texture source; the movement is smoother due to the sub-pixel positioning. By default, this option is disabled.
Animating the Texture Source
You can create a moving texture within a text object by animating the position of the texture source.
To animate the position of the texture source:
- Go to the first frame (Home), or to the frame where you want to begin the animation.
- Enable Animate.
- Enter X and Y offset values in the corresponding fields to set the initial position of the texture.
Note: You can also click and drag the Texture thumbnail image in the Texture controls to move the texture.
- Go to the frame where you want to set the next texture position keyframe.
- Enter the new X and Y offset values in the corresponding fields.
