Rotating Text

You can rotate characters or text blocks. Change a text object's pivot point to change the way the object rotates.

To rotate a text block:
  1. On the Toolbar, click the Arrow tool .
  2. Click anywhere on the text.
  3. The text block is highlighted with scale and rotation handles.

  4. To rotate a single character, Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Macintosh) the letter.
  5. Note: To rotate each text character around its base, use the Rotation slider in the Advanced text controls.

  6. Move the cursor to the rotation handle.
  7. The cursor changes to a curved arrow.

  8. Drag the rotation handle.
  9. The text rotates around its pivot point (which is, by default, the center of the text block).

To edit the pivot point of a text block:
  1. With the text selected, click the Pivot Point option in the tool options.
  2. A pivot point appears on the text block.

  3. Drag the pivot point to the new location.
