Adding Text to a Layer

You can add a Text operator to an existing layer in a composite.

To add a Text operator to a layer:
  1. In the Workspace panel (F3), select the layer to which you want to add text.
  2. Choose Operators | Text, or right-click / Ctrl-click and choose Text.
  3. Note: You can also add a Text operator to a layer node in the Schematic view. For more information, see Adding Nodes.

The Text operator opens and the Text Controls panel appears.

  4. To add text, do one of the following:
  5. Type directly in the Text Editor.
  6. Note: When you enter text directly into the Text Editor, the automatic margins created correspond to the safe zone area (set in Preferences).

  7. In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool and begin typing.
  8. In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool and draw a text box in the viewport. Type directly in the text box. This is useful when you use large text that extends beyond the edge of the image.
