Choosing an Image Format
The Format options determine the type of file created when you render the project. Several of the format options provide a choice of codecs (compressors/decompressors) that you can use. These require you to specify the codec and other related compression settings.
You can use the QuickTime or the AVI format to create a single compressed movie file that you can then play back with your choice of video card. Or you can choose any of the sequence formats to create a series of sequentially numbered images, instead of a single compressed movie file.
To choose a format:
- Choose File | Render, or press Ctrl+R (Windows) or Command+R (Macintosh).
- Select an option from the Format list.
If you select a format that requires additional settings, the Options button is enabled.
- Click Options (next to the Format list).
The dialog for the selected format appears.
- Set these options as required, and then click OK (or Close).
See the following sections for more information on these options.
