Changing RAM Player Frame Rate
You can change the frame rate of the clip in the RAM Player. The setting is only for preview; it is not saved with the clip.
The RAM Player lists three things in the viewport title:
- Frame rate—The chosen rate or maximum rate possible if you use the Max fps option. When the RAM Player is stopped, it shows 0 fps.
- Locked or Unlocked—Locked means the clip is playing at full frame rate, whereas Unlocked means the clip is not playing in real time.
- Total bit depth—The bit depth multiplied by the number of channels. For example, 24 for 8-bit RGB and 32 when the alpha channel is also included. The RAM player only supports 8 bits per channel.
To change the frame rate of the clip:
- Right-click (Windows) or Ctrl-click (Macintosh) the RAM Player viewport and choose an option from the Frame Rate menu.
- Choose Window | Frame Rate and choose an option from the Frame Rate menu.
The choices are 10, 15, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, or 60 fps. The other two options are Max fps and Custom. If you choose the Custom option, enter a frame rate in the Enter Frame Rate dialog that appears.
