Preparing a Job
Once the render manager and servers are started, start combustion and prepare a project for rendering.
Note: You can also send jobs from the stand-alone Render Queue application.
To prepare a network rendering job:
- Start combustion on a workstation on the render network.
- Open the workspace file you want to render.
- Choose File | Render, press Ctrl+R, or double-click an output node in the Schematic view.
The Render Queue dialog appears.
- Set the render options, including the output file type.
For more information, see Rendering Your Work.
- If public input paths are set up for the required footage, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, see Using Public Folders for more information.
- To set the path and filename of the rendered output, do one of the following:
- If you have already set the output filename using a public path, continue with Submitting a Job.
- If you have already set the output filename, but it uses a private path to a shared location, click Output Folder on the Global Settings panel, and set a public path for the output files. The filename on the Output Settings panel is still used.
- If a shared network location is not set up, see Using Public Folders for more information.
Note: An output path entered in the Output Folder field in the Global Settings panel overrides the file path specified in the Filename field of the Output Settings panel.
- Continue with Submitting a Job.
