His Hobby
Horse-riding, he also enjoys designing his own waistcoats, interior decorating
and wood carving before the war he won a number of wooden dolls for
shooting in France.
He made a collection of these prize.
They were stolen in 1945 an his wife was to disappointed that he decided to
make a new set.
He started on broom handles, and found his new hobby very restful.
He has another fine collection of his own making, and still likes to use broom
handles at time.
He love cook, garden, paint.
I suoi Hobby
Amava correre a cavallo così come amava progettare i suoi gilè e
le sue cravatte.
Faceva di tutto per riuscire a trovare le stoffe e i motivi che aveva in mente.
Se non erano in commercio, le disegnava lui stesso e le faceva realizzare su
misura.
Eccellente decoratore d'interni, realizzava gran parte delle decorazioni
presenti nelle sue case.
Personalizzava tutto. Possedeva una vasta collezione di sculture in legno.
Sua moglie Ida, contraria a questo hobby, impedì dopo la distruzione della
loro prima casa (durante la II guerra mondiale) di continuare questa sua
passione.
Amava cucinare, dipingere e il giardinaggio.

write on his letter the date of his reply.
He still preserved all the mail of his fans in the big box.

Riceveva molte lettere da fan di ogni età.
Ogni lettera riportava le stesse frasi:
"ti seguo da molti anni, mi piacerebbe avere una tua fotografia con autografo".
Terry-Thomas rispondeva a tutti.
Sopra le lettere dei fan scriveva "risposto il..." .
Conservava lettere e disegni in enormi scatoloni .
Rispondeva anche alle "lettere poco cortesi".

Terry-Thomas considers Television his favourite medium
"It's is the most difficult medium in the world" He says
" I say that primarily because you have to learn things from the
technical point of view.
You are working physically and mentally.
On radio you can read your script,
but in Television you have to learn every word of it"
