TINDARI - PATTI

On the northern coast to mt 280 on the sea and to 10 km to east of Patti city, finds a cape on whose summit rises the Sanctuary in fugure. It's of recent construction and it's dedicated to the Madonna with black christ. This statue was found again from some fischermen in the below sea. To the inside numerous mosaics and monuments of 1500 and 1600 are found.

History In West part the rests of the ancient Tindarys, founded in the 396 b. c. from Dionisio of Siracusa are found. MARINELLO with characteristic small lake situated under the sanctuary and accessible from the beach. They are a protected area.One tell that a childm fallen from the high, has been saved from the Tindari Our Lady remaining unharmed.
VILLA ROMANA DI PATTI. To some km from the Highway Patti exit, it has been discovered (during the jobs of construction of the freeway) a great roman villa. It's was made in IV cent. a.c. and it is developed around to a great peristyle. To pavement mumerous mosaics can be admired and near was been foud numerous tombs in a place where there was the hot baths before. An interesting Antiquarium (museum) with archaeologicals remains in the same place.
ROMAN VILLA IN TERME VIGLIATORE. (I° cent. b. c.). It's near the tindari and is very well conserved. A peristylium on which various rooms show oneself: The Tablinium, square room of mt 10 of side; one adiacent room destined to kitchen; other rooms like the hot bath. These occupy an entire field with tree main rooms: Frigidarium, Tepidarium and Calidarium; premises communicating to variuous temperatures.
